Demo Day with Wahoo Fitness and Speed Shop Training

Play hooky and join Wahoo Fitness and the Speed Shop Training staff on Friday May 31 for a morning ride and an all-day open house. And, read on to get the Speed Shop's tip of the month!

Wahoo Ride

Friday, May 31, the folks from Wahoo Fitness will be in the store with their latest wares including the all-new ELEMNT ROAM cycling computer as well as ELEMNT BOLTs that folks can try out. We'll ride for about two hours with the Wahoo team and Speed Shop coaches from the shop at 8:30 am heading out southeast of town. Come along and try out the ROAM or a BOLT and learn all the great features of each unit as well as the evolution of the ELEMNT computer, the ROAM, perfect for the rider that's looking to go farther and explore more.

Speed Shop Training Open House

Can't make the Friday morning ride? No problem! Stop by and head to the Speed Shop's open house Friday, May 31, until 4 pm for their open house! You'll be able to check out Wahoo's ELEMNT units as well as the Wahoo KICKR, used exclusively in the Speed Shop, and even the new KICKR CLIMB.

The standard noon Speed Shop class will happen as usual--reserve your seat now!--and the rest of the day the Speed Shop will have Zwift up and running so you can demo the whole complement of Wahoo training tools and get a feel for the Speed Shop.

Speed Shop Training Tip of the Month

The Heat is On.

As we begin to get into the hotter months, it is important to stay on top of your hydration. While thirst is a great indicator of when to drink, some general guidelines have been proposed. Women should aim for roughly 2.5-3 liters of water while men should aim for 3.7 liters. And that doesn't include what you are drinking while riding. Make proper hydration a lifestyle. One great way to beat the heat is to take your harder workouts indoors. Training inside with the AC and a fan on you is a great way to keep your intensity up without running your body into the ground. It helps limit the amount of cardiac drift that can occur while training outdoors in the heat.
