Giant Defy Review

April 2nd, 2013

Giant Defy: For the rider who wants a smoother ride and pro-level performance.

The age of endurance bikes is upon us and at MJ’s we’re proud to offer great choices like the Giant Defy.  Since fit and ride quality is where the “magic happens” we’ll focus on the fact that whether you start at the Defy 5, or the Defy 1 you’ll get the attention to detail and fit that makes Defy stand out. Speaking of fit, the Defy has a slightly taller head tube, and longer wheel base. Pair that with 25mm wide tires and you’ll have a bike that keeps you feeling fresher as you ride.

Prices Starting at:

Defy 5 $720
Defy 3 $915
Defy 1 $1350

For the Ladies

Giant also offers the same line-up for the ladies, called the Giant Avail.  The lightweight and comfortable ride quality of Avail comes courtesy of its premium aluminum frame, designed specifically for women riders with Liv/giant’s 3F philosophy. Its road-taming technologies include the distinctive OverDrive steerer tube, which is oversized for improved handling and slightly taller for optimized endurance positioning.

For those reading that are in the market for carbon, the Giant Defy and Avail offers the same technology in the form of the Giant Defy/Avail Advanced & Defy/Avail Composite frames. Also, not to be forgotten in this segment is the Trek Domane, stay tuned for more words on the Domane in coming weeks. As always, we’d love to share more, so if you have questions shoot us an email, or give us a call. We’re here to help!
