Bicycle Advisory Council Bike Ride

Call it our Intro to Advocacy Night - Mellow Johnny's wants to help you get involved with cycling issues in Austin. First we'll take a short ride to see different types of infrastructure including the new cycletrack on Rio Grande. Next we'll attend the Bicycle Advisory Council meeting at City Hall from 6-8pm. Post meeting, BAC members will head to The Ginger Man for a chance to informally talk issues and answer questions. Real change can happen as community members get together to solve problems so join the conversation.

Ride rolls out at 5:00pm so please arrive a few minutes early to get signed in. Helmets are required. Lights are required if you will be riding after the BAC meeting.

Bicycle Advisory Council meeting runs from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the "Bull Pen" at City Hall 302 W. 2nd St. Bike parking is available streetside on both Lavaca and Guadalupe plus within the parking garage on the reserved level. Bring your own lock. CapMetro.org has detailed info on the many routes that serve City Hall. Validated parking is available within the parking garage.

Chrissie Wellington's "A Life Without Limits" Book Signing

A Life Without LimitsMellow Johnny's is hosting a book signing for four-time Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington for her new book A Life Without Limits.

Part memoir, travel diary, and training guide, A Life Without Limits is Chrissie’s firsthand account of her unlikely rise to the top. In addition to her personal story, Chrissie shares training tips, stories and lessons from around the globe, and what it takes to be a champion in competitive sport.

Mellow Johnny's will have copies of the book for in-store purchase.

Since she began racing in 2006, Chrissie Wellington has placed first in twenty-nine of the thirty-seven races she has entered. She is a triple World Ironman Champion, ITU World Long Course Champion, World Age Group Champion and multiple World Record holder. She is currently undefeated in Ironman races– winning 12 out of 12.
