For people with an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors, there’s no better way to experience public art than from the seat of a bicycle. Tonight's ride is our first evening campus tour visiting works in the UT Landmarks public art program including the newest video projection piece "And That's The Way It Is" by Ben Rubin which is only visible after dusk.
We’ll be joined by docents to fill us in on the artists and the pieces themselves. The total ride distance is 6 miles and will travel at a novice-friendly pace. These rides are co-hosted by Mellow Johnny’s and the Austin Cycling Association. This no-drop, co-ed group ride is perfect for the cyclist new to riding or bike commuting, returning to the bike or just looking for a more casual ride.
Special information: Lights and helmets are required. Ride size is limited, so please rsvp here. Also, if weather happens to cancel the ride, please check web site for updated information. We will not ride if the the roads are wet.
General group ride expectation: lights, helmet, bike in good working condition, water and nutrition, flat changing tools, no headphones, and just for this after-hours tour, lot parking is available on the west side of the bike shop.
For a pre-ride coffee, meet a half hour before ride time at Juan Pelota’s Café.
